NEW YORK– (BUSINESS WIRE) — oneTXT, a social media payment platform, has announced that interactive industry veteran Richard Caccappolo joined the company as president and chief operating officer. Based in New York, Caccappolo will lead daily operations, product management, software development, and post sales account management.

“Richard had more than 20 years experience building great companies and working with great brands,” said Roger Wood, oneTXT chairman and chief executive officer. “He’s an exceptional operations executive whose knowledge of interactive consumer relationships and ability to lead large global teams will be crucial as oneTXT develops a transaction solution capable of payments, loyalty points, and direct marketing.”

“The concept of oneTXT is brilliant and the opportunity is enormous,” said Caccappolo. “I look forward to working with Roger to grow oneTXT into a major payments partner for social networks, online games publishers, and participation TV programs.”

Caccappolo’s previous experience includes positions as chief technology officer and chief operating officer of iVillage Inc., which became the centerpiece of NBC Universal’s Interactive division. Prior to joining iVillage, Caccappolo served as the chief information officer of Kodak Polychrome Graphics; the director of Information Technology for Sun Chemical Europe; and a senior manager of Andersen Consulting (now Accenture). He also has a successful track record as an investor and advisor to several privately-held companies.

In a related announcement today, the company has closed $2 million in Series A financing led by Metamorphic Ventures with participation from KPG Ventures, New York Angels Fund and individual angel investors David Hirsch, Geoffrey Judge, Roger Ehrenberg; and Mark Michel.
